Hi I'm Dave

I am from Wyoming. I am a proud dad and enjoy building forts with my kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town in Wyoming. It was there that I learned to appreciate and love the outdoors. I like to fish, camp and spend time on the lake. I served a two year LDS mission to Vina del Mar Chile which has been one of the greatest blessings and honors of my life. I am a father to two wonderful daughters and we are expecting a boy soon. I am currently attending dental school and with what little free time I have, I like to spend it with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been thinking about this question a lot lately and many reasons have come to mind. I think the main reason I have chosen to be a member of the church is because of the person that it has helped me become. I know I am far from perfect but I know that as I have tried to live the teachings of the LDS church I have found a joy and peace in my life that I have never felt or found anywhere else. In the church, I have found answers to life that have helped me to understand where I came from, why am I here, and where do we go after death. Because of this, I have learned to focus on things that matter most in my life such as, family, faith, friendship, service, and many others. Through the Book of Mormon and the Bible I have come to understand what the Savior did for me and what I must do to return to live with Him. I know the Book of Mormon is true because I have spent many hours searching and praying and I have felt the truthfulness of it through the Holy Ghost. I know the Lord stands willing to reveal that truth unto all men who will earnestly read the book and pray. I know Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and was called to restore the the Lords church in this last dispensation and to translate the Book of Mormon. He was a great man and I feel honored to say that I know he was truly a prophet of God. But most of all, I know that Jesus lived. I know that he showed us the way and then suffered and died for us. It brings me to my knees in humble gratitude to think that he suffered for me. I know that on the 3rd day he was resurrected and that He lives today. He loves each and every one of us and wants us to return to him.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day by being an example of what the LDS church teaches. I try to be a good husband to my wife and a good father to my children. I try to be kind to others and treat all people with respect. I have been taught since a young age to serve others and find great joy in it. I remember shoveling snow, splitting wood, stacking wood, hauling hay, shoveling more snow, mowing lawns, and countless other projects I did through the church. I don't always remember having the best attitude about it when I was asked but I do remember how I felt as I did them. I knew that if the Savior would have been there, He would be by my side serving others also. I live my faith by serving in chruch callings. I have been given many opportunities to help others along the way and have found a helping hand when I needed strength also. Overall, I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus.
