Hi I'm Lafe

I was born and raised in Arizona. I am married with six children. I am a Pediatrician and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona. I have lived in Colombia South America as an LDS Missionary. I have attended school in Utah and Missouri. I married my High School sweetheart (and I am still in love with her). We have six beautiful children. I am a Pediatrician - and cannot picture being anything else. I love to read and take naps, but mostly I enjoy doing activities with my family - movie night, road trips, walks, swimming, working, laughing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a Mormon. I always enjoyed the security and peace I felt as being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I knew from very young that I was a child of God and that He loved me and knew me and had a plan for me. As I grew older I learned to truly pray to Him and trust Him. I began to study scriptures - especially The Book of Mormon - and it strengthend my desire to be more like my Savior. I am a Mormon now because I love the simple truths the Gospel of Jesus Christ provides in my life. I love knowing that we have a Prophet on earth today who speaks to God and teaches us. I love knowing that there are sacred Temples on the earth that are dedicated to the Lord for the teaching and edification of His children. I love knowing that the family relationships that we have in this life can continue after this life. Lastly, I am a Mormon because a young boy, Joseph Smith, prayed to know the truth and was visited by God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ and they revealed the truth to him - and I believe that.

How I live my faith

In the church we have many opportunites to learn and grow and serve others. I live my faith by striving to take advantage of these opportunites. I have been a Sunday School teacher to the children, youth and adults at church. I have also worked with the Cub Scouts as a den leader and Cub Master (one of my favorite things to do). Currently I have the opportunity to work with the youth, teaching and participating in activities with them on a weekly basis. One opportunity we all have is to be "Home Teachers". We visit each others homes and share gospel truths and build friendships. I have fond memories of the families I have visited over the years and those who have visited us. My wife and I strive to live our faith in our home by teaching our children to love God and to be good citizens. We pray together, study scriptures and have a family night every week to learn and spend time together. At work I strive to be honest and treat others with respect. Basically, I live my faith by living the day to day routine of life and in the process try to be more like my Savior, Jesus Christ, and act and treat others as he would.
