Hi I'm Bonnie

I grew up in Nebraska, but have lived in Northeast Colorado for 28 years. I am a wife, a homeschooling mom and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in California but grew up in Nebraska. I was raised in the Methodist church. When I was in college I really began searching for the true church. I became a Mormon at age 20 after much study and prayer. I have a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Right now I homeschool my 4 children that are still at home. I have homeschooled for 18 years and have 4 older children whom I also homeschooled and are now in college or college graduates. I have a set of twins and also two adopted children from Korea. Some of my children have special needs. I also have 2 little grandsons. I love to read, play the piano, bike and swim. And especially spend time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I felt I had so many unanswered questions as a teenager. My church was nice, but didn't have the answers and didn't have all the truth. I visited many different churches while I was in college. I went to the college library and checked out books on different religions. I remember reading one called something like "The Farm Boy and the Angel". After studying for awhile on my own, I started having the missionary lessons. I remember reading The Book of Mormon and having certain passages jump out at me, testifying of the truthfulness of what they were saying and the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I studied, and studied and prayed and then was baptized at age 20. It wasn't easy. Many of my friends told me I was doing the wrong thing. It was rough for me for awhile but then at age 22 I went on a mission to New Mexico. I loved teaching the people of that 'land of enchantment' the fullness of the Gospel. I am a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is true, I know we have a living prophet on the earth today, I know we have the true Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good example to those around me. I'm involved in things in my community like the summer reading program and the county fair. I try to do my best with my church responsibililties. I work with the young woman at our church. I love being with them, I've learned as much from them as they have from me. I also play the piano for our church choir and help in the church library.
