Hi I'm Stefanie

I believe that dance is music made visible... and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love dance, drama and music and I'm a qualified teacher. I am putting those teaching skills to good use by doing relief and contract work within the Brisbane North school district but my ultimate goal would be to write spiritually uplifting gospel songs and to share them with the world. I have wanted to do this since I was very young. I have always been very moved by the EFY sound tracks and other Mormon gospel singers/songwriters.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel that the Lord has guided me in my life in more ways then I can even imagine. Going to University was such an overwhelming experience for me emotionally, physically and mentally. However I have always felt impressed that getting an education was imperative regardless of my weaknesses. I cannot count the times when the Lord helped me write impossible assignments or supported me when I was living off such little means. The Lord would bless me with extra shifts at work or I would be given food from people randomly when I needed it the most. The Lord has blessed me within other areas of my life of being financially secure and spiritually strong. At the beginning of the year I was asked a few times to teach full time at a school that was up north in a very remote area. I didn’t think I had much of a choice at the time as I was struggling financially and needed the work. How could I turn down a full time position? But I knew at the same time that if I decided to move, I would not be able to attend church, Young Single Adult events or even teach seminary. Also I was preparing to go to the temple and I knew it would set my progress back a whole year. I had been praying to the Lord about my predicament and decided to make the move and told the Lord that if there was any other way I could stay… then could He help me find it? The very day that I had to give an answer to move up north, I was called by a local school in Brisbane and offered a contract position. Again… the Lord was listening. I love my Savior with all my heart. I have learnt why it is so important to give up everything to know Him and I am so grateful for the feelings of the spirit when I do. I know that when I read the Book of Mormon and obey the commandments as best I can, then I can be close to my Father and worthy of his guidance.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving the Lord as a Seminary teacher. At the beginning of the year I set some goals for myself as I usually do and wrote them down. One of my goals was to learn all of the scripture masteries again as I had forgotten them over the years. Just a few weeks latter I was called to teach seminary. As you can imagine… I didn’t quite expect such a massive and quick answer to my prayers but the Lord knew the desires of my heart and the goals I had set. I cannot think of a more excellent way of learning my scripture masteries then teaching them to the youth. This is the third year that I have taught seminary and I can see how this calling has helped me throughout my studies of education and also as a practicing school teacher.
