Hi I'm Lorie

I'm a Mormon. I am so grateful to be a mom, a daughter, a wife and volunteer in my community.

About Me

Hi there, I am Lorie! I was born in Phoenix AZ and I am very proud to be a native! I married a wonderful man in the Mesa Temple over 35 years ago. I have lived in a couple of other states but AZ is my absolute favorite!!! I have 4 grown children that are all doing wonderfully. Grandkids are the greatest!!!! I have 2 digital camaras and I use them a lot! I consider scrapbooking my way of keeping track of our family history. I take many pictures of sunsets and they are spectacular in AZ. I love serving in the church and in the community. My most favorite is one on one service! I love animals, especially kitty cats. My favorite color is purple and I really enjoy dark chocolate! Most importantly, I AM A MORMON!!!!!!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it is the pure religion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have felt his love for me countless times through out my life. Knowing that I am here for the purpose of proving myself worthy to be with Him again is a precious truth. Through the Atonement that Jesus Christ suffered for me, I can return to live with my Heavenly Father by living my life as obedient to the commandments as I can. Also, being sure to repent often of the things I do that are wrong and repent for the things I should be doing that are right that I am not currently incorporating in my life. I count myself so blessed to have been part of a wonderful family growing up. None of us were perfect of course, but I was so extremely blessed to stay strong in the church growing up. I kept my values and goals very close to me. I also count my good childhood friends and their families that helped to strengthen me at times.

How I live my faith

I love one on one service. Our church offers that as we care for one another. The women get to visit each other monthly with the women they have been assigned to visit. That is such a wonderful way to expand my circle of friends! We share uplifting gospel messages and also chat about everything else too. The visiting teaching program is a very inspired and important program for the women of the church! The men are also busy as they visit with everyone, men and women. The program is called home teaching because they try to visit in the home! I have had and have now, wonderful home teachers. Also, of course, I have visiting teachers. They are all my friends! I also love to volunteer in the community. I have done service called Dog Therapy, visiting with patients in the hospital that miss their pets, I took the pictures, it was fun. I also have a love for the older generation, even though I am getting there too! I love visiting, taking lunch to them, taking them shopping, and taking them to their doctor appointments etc. I love my life, I love serving others!
