Hi I'm Steve

I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After being laid off due to the poor economy, I decided to go back to school. I believe that an education will help me to find a good job where I can support my little family. I have a son and a new baby daughter who I love and want to care for. My wife balances me out, I'm not sure what I'd do without her. Life in general isn't always easy, it wasn't made that way. We're here to learn, and the principles that the Church teaches help us to better understand our purpose here, and it makes it that much easier. I know that it has blessed me in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I truly believe in it. I was born into the church but fell away when I was a youth due to some bad friends and the choices we made. God's hand truly was in my life, even if I didn't quite see it then, when my best friend broke into my house and stole some money from me. I decided then and there that the choices I was making weren't the ones that I wanted for my life, and they weren't the ones our Heavenly Father wanted me to be making. I set out to make new friends, and believe that God led me to some mormon acquaintances who quickly became my good friends. After becoming active in the Church again I served a mission for the church where I saw firsthand the blessings that the gospel of Jesus Christ truly brings to our families. We always hear that the "truth will set you free". That is so true. I know that by abiding by the principles that our Saviour taught we can and will be happier, more blessed, and that our lives will be better from it. Through Jesus Christ, we can be free from the toils and pains that are troubling us. After seeing so many examples and hearing multiple stories of these blessings it's hard for me to not be mormon. I'm mormon, and I know that God is happy with my descision.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping others. I smile at people through the day. I'm friendly. I try to follow the example set by our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Specifically, I try to be a better husband and father because I know that I am only a steward over some precious spirits of our Heavenly Father. I love interacting with the youth in my ward, because I know how dangerous a world it is out there for them. I love volunteering for the Boy Scouts and love to give service to other organizations. Being a mormon isn't about the title or even just a belief, it's acting on the belief that matters. That is what Christ taught when he was on the earth.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Steve
Mormons believe that the Church was founded by Jesus Christ when He was on the Earth, but some of the plain and precious truth's of the fullness of Christ's gospel were lost over time (thus the "Dark Ages" began). Jesus chose a willing young man named Joseph Smith to restore those lost truths in 1830, and we have had the fullness of the gospel ever since. We are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it is the church of Jesus Christ in what we believe to be the latter days here on the Earth. He is the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Savior of mankind, and we worship Him. We invite anyone to pray to our Heavenly Father to ask him if this is true. I know it is, and I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want you to know this as well.
