Hi I'm Rick

I'm an Alaskan and a Mormon. I grew up in Anchorage and love the "Great Land."

About Me

I am a husband, father and have six wonderful children, and a new dog. I enjoy activities with my family, church service, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting and good movies. I currently work as a lawyer and business manager.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for lots of different reasons but one of the most significant is because the principles and doctrines taught and included in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints' (the "Mormons") church give me hope. The Atonement of Christ and the Plan of Salvation, which is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, give us all the hope and promise of a loving Heavenly Father that we can be forgiven of our sins, that we can live with him again and that death is only a temporary state of affairs. The Lord loves each of us, you and me. He wants us to be joyful and happy. I know that he is mindful of us and that he has restored his Church with the fulness of his Gospel in order to help us successfully make it through the trials and challenges of this mortal life.

How I live my faith

The Church provides lots of opportunities and I have been able to participate in many different kinds of activities and service because of my membership. Some of these activities include: participation in the programs and leadership of the Boy Scouts of America; conducting and organizing Sunday church services; counseling with and providing support to individuals in need of physical, spiritual and emotional help; teaching and participating in activities with children, youth and young adult groups; and, as a leader in many other service capacities. On a more personal level, I try to live my faith daily by regularly including prayer in my and my family's life. I try to find some way to be a kinder, better, more Christ like person every day. I try to always see the good in other people and their God given potential. I don't always do as well as I would like but I keep trying and I believe that through the Atonement, and teachings and ordinances of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that I can become the person that I want to be.
