Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a High School math teacher and I love the outdoors! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love nature and being outdoors. I love to hike, camp, mountain bike, rock climb, and being in the mountains. I love snow and how it makes me feel. I also enjoy traveling to foreign countries to experience other cultures and especially to taste their food.:) I recently returned from China and Thailand and loved the people that I interacted with there. I recently finished my masters while working full time (that was intense!), but the lessons I learned and the growth that came from writing a thesis (only ever want to do that once) were definitely worth the time and sacrifice to finishing my paper. I am a math teacher and I love helping my students find the positives in their life including turning math into a positive (it's a constant battle, but worth the effort).

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I have felt the power of the Holy Ghost from reading the Book of Mormon. I prayed to Heavenly Father asking if He could help me understand the book and if it was true. After dedicating time to reading and studying I felt the Holy Ghost confirm to me that it was true. I continue to feel that whenever I read and study. I am Mormon because of the teachings of Jesus Christ of His atonement, His mercy, His forgiveness, and His love. I love being Mormon because of the gift of the Holy Ghost we receive after baptism that is a constant companion to guide me, comfort me, and protect me. I love the way I feel when I attend church. I have a knowledge of who I am, that I am a daughter of God, and that I have a Heavenly Father who has heard and answered my prayers.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying my scriptures and praying every day for added strength and guidance as to how to best live my life and to protect me from the evils of the world. I live my faith by attending church every Sunday to feel of Holy Ghost and the strength that comes therein. I help organize activities for young single adults in my ward to provide a positive and clean environment for us mingle and be unified. I live my faith by being a good daughter, sister, aunt, or friend by trying to be more like my Savior, Jesus Christ.
