Hi I'm Jan

I grew up in Seattle Wa. I'm an independent contractor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the 6th of 13, the father to 5, the grandfather to 11, the uncle to 73, and the great uncle to 120 plus. Most of my time is spent with family, church or participating in sporting events. I love to play basketball, racquetball, ping pong and golf. I do some hunting and fishing. My wife and I like to garden. I am in the process of building a pond in our backyard. I do a lot travel for business and for pleasure. I enjoy being home and creating an atmosphere that will entice my grand kids to visit.

Why I am a Mormon

To me, family is the most important part of life. I like the idea of being married to my wife and sealed to my family for eternity. The church teaches self reliance and being prepared for the future. Not only that, but they give a person the tools to become such. The church also teaches the same principles that Jesus Christ taught during his ministry on earth.

How I live my faith

I teach Sunday School to the adults in my congregation. I am also a "greeter" during the week to the youth. Two mornings a week I welcome 60 plus youth to our church building at 6am as they arrive to attend a seminary class. Once a month I visit 3 families in our area and give them a spiritual message from our leaders. These families also know that if they are in need of any kind of assistance I will do my best to help. If I don't have the resources to help I will look for volunteers from members of our congregation or community who do. I served a 2 year mission to Colombia S.A. when I was a young adult and look forward to doing it again with my wife when we retire.
