Hi I'm Jill

I am a family therapist, a pro-decency activist, an author, a wife and a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a Canadian military family and have lived in various parts of the world. This international upbringing fostered a love and appreciation for other cultures, religions and people. I obtained a doctorate in marriage and family therapy and use my academic and professional training to pursue my passion for women's issues, human rights, and protecting families from the harmful effects of pornography and sexually exploitative media. I love being a mother and view my work in the home as one of the most vital contributions I can make to the world around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. I am thankful for the ways my faith helps me learn about His teachings and motivates me to strive to live and be more like Him.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by continually trying to better myself as a woman, a wife, a parent and a citizen. I enjoy taking classes and reading books which help me understand how to implement Gospel principles more authentically and fully in my life. For example, my husband and I are currently taking a parenting class together, and I have been studying a book about forgiveness. I also volunteer as much as I can in my faith community and community at large.
