Hi I'm Cody Callaway

I love being with my family, I love sports, I love movies, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well I am Cody. I am currently serving a LDS mission in Arizona. But before I came out I was going to college, working at Verizon Wireless as a sales rep. and was living at home. Just the normal college kid life, working, homework, and of course.. my social life! I loved hanging out with people, especially my family! My parents got divorced when I was 8 and my mother never remarried, we lived with my mom and visited my dad every other weekend. We lived on a farm and once my dad left that meant I had to take charge of feeding the animals and working at the age of 8. (Me being the oldest) That taught me a lot and has made me who I am. I have gone through a lot of tough trials in my life but they have put where were I am today. I am so grateful for my mother, raising 3 children single but was able to be with us while we were growing up. This is my life and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

Well I was born into the church. My mom was a convert and was a very strong member of the church. My dad joined when he married my mom but never really had a testimony and he fell away from the church. So during my growing up years my mom had us go to church and read our scriptures every day and pray, something to this day that I am very grateful for. However during my high school years I decided to rebel and cause problems about going to church and wanted to stop going, however between my mom and older brother that didn't happen but I did graduate seminary. So I turned 18 and had high school graduation on the same weekend, so I used my agency and stopped going to church. About 2 years later I was living with my mom and I was working and going to school and one random day I got a phone call from a girl I didn't know. She was a member of the singles ward and she invited me to a ward activity, by the end of that phone call she made me promise to come. So I did and then I ended up going to church that Sunday. So all of this was going down and on Tuesday I was texting this girl who had called me and I asked her, did she want a returned missionary for a husband? She said yes and as soon as she said that I started thinking to myself what am I doing with my life? I noticed something was missing and I needed to change. So remembering what my mom always told me to do was pray. So that night I prayed asking what I needed to do. I stayed awake pretty much all night thinking of everything. That morning I was on my way to work and I was still thinking about everything and then bam it hit me! I needed to go on a mission. I felt so good that I started crying, I knew this was something I needed to do. The spirit testified to me so strongly. I knew my path and I knew it was what my Father in Heaven wanted for me. I love this gospel and has blessed me greatly. I know Jesus Christ lives and that the LDS church is the lords's church once again restored to the earth again.

How I live my faith

Well right now how I live my faith as being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is representing Jesus Christ by being called by a modern day Prophet to serve a full time 2 year mission. I am down in the great state of Arizona and going out every day on my bike helping people. I love this calling, all I do is teach people and help them find happiness and joy in this life. The greatest thing I share is that everyone in this life has a purpose and that we can live with our families forever. I love getting to meet new people. I get to always help in the communities I serve in and the wards I cover. However this isn't an easy calling, there are a lot of people who do not like us and its tough. But I have learned so much and I always find something to laugh at. I know the lord blesses me and definitely has a huge impact on me. Most of you who read this know that Arizona is hot, and being on a bike here and the weather being 115 degrees out is not always easy to go out and to have a great attitude all the time, but it will go for great stories when I get to share them with my family someday. This is really how I live my faith and I love every minute of it. I am so grateful for this gospel and it has blessed me greatly.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Cody Callaway
Mormon Missionaries are awesome! Meaning that I am one currently. However most people out there in the world are scared to meet with the missionaries cause they are just wanting to get the person baptized or to join the church, all we care is getting people's money for the church. However we actually teach people a great message of Jesus Christ. We believe we are all children of our Heavenly Father and we have that love for all of his children just like our Father does. We know this message can bring families closer together and that they can live together forever! How great a message can that be?? We missionaries are just young men who love and care about other people's lives and want to serve Jesus Christ and cause of that we give up 2 years of our lives away from our family, schooling, and careers. How many people do you know are that dedicated? WE KNOW our message is true and WE KNOW it can bless you and your family. Missionaries are great young men who all they want to do is help.
