Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a mother of four, married to my best friend, and...I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am an 'executive' homemaker doing my best to maintain a loving, happy, and strong family. I love spending time with my family, planning and going on vacations, sticking to routines, and throwing in a little spontaneity every now and again. As a homemaker, there is fulfillment from keeping my family life running efficiently. This is accomplished with essential daily doses of family prayer, family dinner, and good conversation. In my free time I like to sew, reorganize, and decorate my home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in the church. Around the time I began High School I became really good friends with my neighbor, who was not LDS. Throughout the course of our friendship we had many long conversations about each others religion. It was then that I recognized the significance of the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. It was clear to me that our Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us. He is mindful of our needs and wants to bless us, so long as we are obedient to His commandments. It wasn't long before the missionaries were introduced and a baptism day was set. I love this gospel! I know Joseph Smith was a prophet and restored the true church in these latter days. We have a modern day prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who receives revelation to guide and teach us. The Book of Mormon was written for us as another witness of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ and for my neighbor, best friend, and eternal companion who accepted the gospel into his life.

How I live my faith

I work within the childrens organization. I am a counselor to the President who oversees the scouting program for the boys ages 8-11. Sunday meetings provide a time where we take turns teaching gospel principles through group lessons and activities. I love teaching the children! I also make monthly visits to women to whom I am assigned. This provides a great opportunity to get to know other woman in our church family and share a spiritual message.
