Hi I'm Aaron

I'm a husband, I'm a father, I'm an author, I'm a Mormon. Yes I am.

About Me

I'm a husband of one and a father of four. That's how I'd describe myself first, husband and father. My family is the most important thing to me. It's what I want to be good at. I love watching my kids learn and grow. I coach their baseball and soccer teams and I am the family photographer at their plays, concerts and recitals. I love to write and draw heavily from my faith and my life experiences in my writing. My first novel, The Land of Look Behind, is about a return missionary and a mystery that takes him back to Jamaica. I just so happened to have served a mission in Jamaica (the best mission in the world) and really enjoyed writing about all the things I love about that beautiful island nation and her people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. I mostly did what I was asked to do growing up with a few mildly rebellious exceptions, nothing crazy just normal teenage stuff. When the time came for me to choose whether or not to serve a mission I had to get serious about what I really believed. Through prayer and the sweet confirmation of the spirit I knew that my Heavenly Father was real and that he knew me and loved me. That was a message I felt would bless people's lives. I chose to serve a mission and was called to serve for two wonderful years in Jamaica. A few years after returning home I married my wife in the Mesa Temple and we started our forever family. The longer I live and the more I learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ the stronger my testimony grows. I know God lives and He loves us. I know that He has provided a way for us to find peace and happiness in this life and in the life to come. It is by following the Savior and through the sacred ordinances performed by His priesthood that we can have eternal life as we repent and humble ourselves before Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. I serve my family first as the patriarch of our home. I serve wherever else I am called to serve.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

We believe that we are all brothers and sisters of the same Heavenly Father. He loves us all and wants us to help and lift each other. The Book of Mormon teaches that "they did not send away any who were naked, or that were hungry, or that were athirst, or that were sick, or that had not been nourished; and they did not set their hearts upon riches; therefore they were liberal to all, both old and young, both bond and free, both male and female, whether out of the church or in the church, having no respect to persons as to those who stood in need." (Alma 1:30) We likewise are ready and willing to help our brothers and sisters in need. Show more Show less
