Hi I'm robby

I used to live in an orphangae in Russia and now I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Nahodka Russia and placed in an orphanage at the age of 2. I came to America at the age of 7 with a small group to see if anyone wanted to adopt me. My parents came to find me by following inspiration and a dream that my mom had. When she saw me for the first time the spirit told her that I was her son and they began the adoption process. It took 9 months but they finally came and brought me home. I am their 5 child, thier first adopted. I have 3 older brothers and a sister. It was really hard growing up in an orphange. I spent a lot of time on the streets trying to stay out of the way of the bigger kids who like to pick on us younger ones. I became tough and could take pain and show no emotion. When I came to America I started school in the 2nd grade as my first experience ever and had to learn to speak, read and write this new language. It has been hard for me to get caught up but after working hard I fianlly have. I have now lived here for 7 years and have enjoyed a whole new life. I play the piano, wrestle, snowboard, ride snowmobles, drive a razor and quads. We have a great cabin to escape the heat and enjoy the snow at and I especially enjoy playing video games and hanging out with friends. I am also restoring a 1966 chevy truck. I took it completely apart all by myself and through mentors I'm learning how to put it back together. I love being with my cousins and my niece and nephew and love making people laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I knew nothing about the church when I first came here and adjusting to a new way of life was hard at first. My parents hired a tutor to help me learn english and to study in school. My tutor was a return missionary who had gone to Russia on a mission. After being here for 6 months my parents began to have me take the missionary lessons. I was taught why I am here and where I came from. I began to understand that even though I came to my family in different way that I was apart of them from the beginning and that I belonged with them. I realized that my Heavenly Father knew me personally and that he had guided me to my family and that through his miracles we found each other. It was a test of faith for them as well as me to come over here and now I understood why. It was my decision to join the church and baptized. It felt good and right. A month later my whole family and I went to the temple to be sealed together forever as a family. It was a great place and the spirit was strong there. Everyone was dressed in white and all our relatives where there too. As we all kneeled around the alter we became a forever family and got to sit all together in the celestial room. It was a great feeling to know that I was now loved, and belong to a family that wanted me forever. People sometimes take for granted thier families and until you've never had one you don't know how great it is to belong and be wanted. I know this church is true and that it is guided by a living prophet here on the earth today, I know that our Heavenly Father loves each of us and knows us personally and guides us daily through the Holy Ghost. I know Jesus Christ gave his life for us and that through repentance we can make it back to live with our Heavenly Father again. I love my life now, I love my family and I love being a member of the church.
