Hi I'm Julia!

I'm a new mom, a very happy wife, I might be a crazy coupon lady, I restore furniture and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm originally from Kentucky but my husband, son and I just moved to Arizona. I hibernate in weather below 40 degrees so I convinced my husband we need to move here. I'm a new mother to an adorable little guy who is always on the move and I love being married to my best friend. I had sever post-partum depression after my son was born and was hospitalized twice from effects from it. I'm so grateful to have overcome that through faith, love, and medicine. I love flouncy skirts and my Swiffer. (I might be addicted to cleaning the kitchen floor) I also love being twirled in the grocery store by my husband and I live for our date nights. I might just be a crazy coupon lady and I apologize if you get behind me in the checkout line at the grocery store. I'm a Zumba groupie because I love it, but I look borderline ridiculous doing it. Having my ears rubbed helps me fall asleep. My favorite hobby is restoring furniture. It brings a smile to my face. I love taking something old and unwanted and turing it into a stunning new piece. It makes me feel like I can become something new too.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings joy to my life. It has taught me that I am a daughter of God and He, the Creator of this world, a perfect, infinite being, knows exactly who I am. I know that He loves me and knowing this makes me what to keep His commandments so I can stay close to Him in this life and return to Him in the next. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the church that the Savior established when He was on this Earth and I know that His atonement was for me as much as it was for all mankind. Because I know this I want to serve my family, friends and those all around me to help pay back the debt I owe my Savior. I am a Mormon because I want to be married to my best friend for eternity and not just till death do us part. I know that the LDS church has the priesthood, the same power and authority that Christ gave His apostles which allows me if I remain worthy to be sealed to my husband and son for forever. I am a Mormon because I have prayed and received a personal witness that this is not a church of man, but a church of our Savior and Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith as best I can, but I fully admit I am not perfect. My husband and I feel it is important to take care of those around us, especially the homeless and the elderly. We give when we can whether it be a few dollars or a meal. I know the Savior commanded us to take care of those around us. I live my faith by communicating through prayer to my Heavenly Father. I love to say little prayers in my heart when I see something that I am grateful for. Whether it be a beautiful sunset or when my son gives me a kiss, I try to always remember that all of my blessings come from my Heavenly Father. I live my faith by fulfilling my assignments to serve in my ward family. I live my faith when I share my testimony with my friends and try to help them feel peace. I love to restore furniture and create something of beauty from something that everyone thinks has no hope. This reminds me everyday how important it to repent so that I can become something better than I am now. I live my faith when I repent and use the gifts of the Atonement everyday.

What is being a Mormon like?

Julia!
Being Mormon is wonderful! It blesses my life spiritually and temporally. It teaches me why I am here on Earth, that I am a child of God and that He had a wonderful plan specifically for me and you. I love going to church and seeing friends who believe as I do. I love that as a woman, I am regarded as special and divine in our faith. That I am a helpmeet to my husband and that we are equal in the eyes of the Lord. I love the support it gives me as a mother and parent and that there are so many people who are on the same path as I am, helping me to succeed. Show more Show less
