Hi I'm Larry M. Packer

I'm a fifth-generation Idaho farm boy that somehow found his way to the big city. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have 7 children, many grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. I worked for 30+ years with a large electronics firm in Arizona before retiring. I am still working full-time as a Facilities Manager for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I do a lot of Family History (genealogy) work, and getting ready now to start helping to index the 1940 U.S. Census. I enjoy camping with my family and often take grandchildren back to Idaho to spend a few days on the farm.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church. As a young man I spent 2 1/2 years serving as a missionary in South America. I have stayed active all my life, fulfilling many different callings and assignments in the church. There are no doubts in my mind as to the truthfulness of the church and of the divine mission of the Savior Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and testify that it is scripture made available to us through the Savior's dealings with the Prophet Joseph Smith. I also accept the Bible as scripture.

How I live my faith

I continue serving my church in several ways. As a facilities manager for the church, I maintain over 30 church buildings to keep them clean, attractive and in near-perfect condition. I serve on the Stake High Council where my responsibilities include the many aspects of Family History work. Every other month or so I speak to different ward congregations on subjects of faith. I administer to my family to stay on top of their needs and help them in their life pursuits.
