Hi I'm Mireya

I'm a stay-at-home mother of four. I'm so thankful for my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family. My kids & my husband are at the center of my universe. I love to make my kids & husband laugh by telling them jokes, silly stories, and just being goofy....I love to hear them laugh! I also enjoy cuddling with my kids to read a book, watch a movie, or just talk about their day. I don't seem to have much time, but when I do have a spare moment, I enjoy sewing, singing, dancing, scrapbooking, and doing crafts. I like to learn about different people & cultures by trying different foods and learning other languages. I'm not a pro at any of these things but they sure are fun!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents converted to the Church in Mexico right before I was born. Growing up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mexico was not easy, since the culture is so rich and influenced so much by the Catholic Church. My parents' testimony of the restored gospel was so strong, they made sure our home was a place where we belonged. Through service and sacrifice they taught me by example as to how I should live my life. When I was 12 years old, our family moved to the US. For me, this meant a new school, new language, and no friends. I was sick to my stomach. After the first week of school ended, I went to my mother and told her I wanted to drop out of school and stay home. With her kind words of wisdom, she reminded me to pray to our Heavenly Father for comfort, and that He would help me get through this. So I knelt down to pray, and I was comforted by the Holy Ghost. The following week I returned to school, and with my mother's advice and my Heavenly Father at my side, I was able to learn a new language, make new friends, and even finished school...elementary school all the way to college (where I met my wonderful husband). As time passed by and life has gotten harder, I have gone to my Heavenly Father in prayer for guidance and comfort many times. I know He loves me, and I know that He is mindful of me and my family. There is happiness and joy in my life as I have come to find out for myself, just like my parents did when they first joined the Church, that this is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Soy una hija de Dios, y pertenesco a la Iglesia de Jesuscristo de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias.

How I live my faith

I'm not perfect, but I try to follow the Savior's example. I enjoy serving others around me. I watch other people's kids, take dinner or treats to other families, or just simply lend an ear to those that might just need someone to talk to. As a family, we do yard work for some of the elderly in our area. Within the Church, I have the honor of serving the children by teaching them the principles of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. In turn, they have taught me to be more like the Savior.
