Hi I'm Alicia

I love nature. I like apples. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! I grew up being the youngest of six kids in a great neighborhood. My family has always been a huge support to me and I feel love and accepted when I'm around them. We love to get together and have Sunday dinners. Family is a huge part of my life and I look forward to having a big family of my own one day. I love to sing and enjoy haring my talent with others. Music is my quick fix if I'm ever feeling low. It's the fastest way to feel the Spirit of God. Music always calms me down and helps me remember that God loves me and is always there to help. I really enjoy nature and getting out into the fresh air. It's so nice to take a break from busy life and just feel the peace that nature provides.

Why I am a Mormon

I converted to the church when I was 18 and will never regret that decision. I've always strived to live the way God wants me to and it's important for me to find out which church is true for myself. You can only go off of borrowed light for so long. There comes a time in everyone's life where they have to decide what's right for them. That soul searching time for me was about two and half years ago. I went off to college and couldn't go to my church every weekend, so I attended the LDS ward at school with the people in my dorm. I was really questioning what was true because my Dad told me he wanted to join the LDS church and I needed to know for myself. I had a ton of questions and luckily there were great people around me to help ease all my concerns. It was not an easy road. My friend Emily stayed up with me night after night discussing religion. After studying tons of topics like Priesthood, Sacrament, and Temples, it all came down to one question: Which church is true? I remember the day that I fasted and prayed about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and if it was true. I knelt at my bedside, having faith that God would answer my prayer. I needed to know if this church was His and I knew that once he gave me an answer, I would act accordingly. After my prayer I waited. I was completely still and just listened for the still small voice to speak peace to my mind and heart. The feeling I was searching for came and at first I didn't accept it. I was scared to change everything I knew, but the feeling was so undeniably from God, I had to act. So I was baptized two months later :) My baptism was one of the greatest days of my life. I've never felt closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. This church is true and Christ is the head of it. I love what my Savior has done for me and I will never regret joining his church.

How I live my faith

Since my baptism, I've had the opportunity to practice living what I believe through accepting different callings in the church. My favorite assignment was in the Primary, or where the little kids go at church. I love little children and was so excited to teach them about their great worth. God asks all of us to be more like little children, meek and humble and always eager to learn. Being able to teach kids about the Gospel made me realize my great skills with young kids and that calling really helped me decide to go into Elementary Education. I'm excited that this church has helped me find my hidden talents and how to share them with others. The church has allowed me to give more of myself to God. I've wanted to be closer to Him, and I believe that's attainable through getting to know all of His children and serving them. I am currently serving a mission and I love spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are searching for the truth, just like I was.
