Hi I'm Ramona

I'm a wife, a mother of 5 beautiful and brilliant children, a High School Teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a great life, I like to exercise and keep fit. I am a supply teacher so I get to meet with lots of different children and youth in different places each week, I love to be around teenagers! I am an 'early morning' seminary teacher and love studying the scriptures. My husband and I have lived in a few different countries and have enjoyed meeting lots of different people and having great adventures. When we were first married we spent 3 years in Tonga (Vava'u) teaching at Saineha High School. That experience taught us to value people and our relationships with others rather than material possessions.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptised when I was 8 yrs old but my family stopped going to church when I was around 12. I didn't know a lot about what it meant to be a Mormon. I met up with the missionaries again when I was 18 and started working in a tax office. I didn't want the missionaries to talk to me because I thought my life was already great and how could it get any better? Well, my boss was a Mormon and I looked up to her, she was such a fun, energetic person who did so much good for everyone. She loved people and she had this 'glow' about her, she was always happy. I started to ask her questions about what she believed. It didn't take long before I started to have the missionary discussions. Through that process I was able to judge between what I thought was happiness and what was real happiness...true joy. My life has never been better. I have gained a testimony of Jesus Christ for myself and have learnt about the resoration of the gospel through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I learnt for myself that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. He was confused about which church to join so he asked God and the answer to that prayer changed his life and it changed the world. I have followed his example and asked for myself if Joseph Smith was a true prophet, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it and my prayer was answered. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true record of an Ancient people, it is Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am a seminary teacher... which means; I wake early each school morning and teach the youth in our area principles of the gospel though studying the scriptures. We talk about Jesus Christ and learn from His example how we should live our lives. After seminary the youth then head to school. It is such a great way to start the day! Through teaching from and about the scriptures I learn so much. It helps me to make changes in my life that make be a better wife, mother and person and it brings me such great joy.
