Hi I'm Katey

I'm a friend, a daughter, a high school graduate, a laugher, a sympathetic crier, and soon-to-be missionary, and a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated high school in 2015 and I've been enjoying life since! I'm currently preparing to serve a mission and I report to the Mexico MTC September 6. I'll be learning Spanish so I can teach the people in Morristown, New Jersey. I love laughing and watching movies! I have the best friends and family in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've prayed about the Book of Mormon and I know it's true. I grew up in a very active Mormon family and that was honestly one of the biggest blessings in my life. My parents taught me how to pray to receive my own testimony of the Gospel. Everything they taught me in the home and the things I learned at Church and other activities were all things I could personally find out if they were true or not. I'm a Mormon because God answers prayers and He cares about each of His children individually. I know that He has a plan for each of us and it is a very specific, individualized plan. I know that Christ lived, and that He now lives. He came to this earth, taught His gospel, and atoned for our sins and imperfections. He also died for us. I'm a Mormon because Christ gives us second chances and third and fourth. I don't have to be perfect, I just have to try my hardest to obey God's teachings and utilize the atonement when I fall short. I'm a Mormon because I don't have to do anything alone. In Christ's suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, He felt everything we have and will have felt. He knows our joys and our sadness, our weaknesses and our strengths, and He knows our struggles and accomplishments. Christ can be with us always if we live worthily enough. I'm a Mormon because I can have hope through the atonement that I can make it back to live my Heavenly Father and Savior once again.

How I live my faith

The scriptures teach us that "faith without works is dead". I live my faith by studying and worshipping and devoting my time and efforts to this Gospel. I follow Christ and I live my life based on my testimony of His Church. I'm not perfect but by expressing my faith and obeying God's commandments, I can become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I study my scriptures and Preach My Gospel daily and I haven't always done that in the past so I know the difference it makes when you do. I live my faith by trying. I live my faith by doing.
