Hi I'm Julie

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Southern California. One of my favorite things to do still is to go to the beach.

About Me

I am a Mother and Wife of 26 yrs. I am in a carrer that I teach people how to lose weight and keep it off. I really love seing how much better they feel...Plus it helps me to stay focused on healthy eating. When I am off work my 1 of my hobbies is decorating. I love to look up shabby chic blogs and get ideas from people all around the world and it is so fun when they show you the work they have done in their home...plus it is so great replacate some of their home ideas. I also love to spend time with my family...plus my grandkids are the best! I was playing Mario Cart with him for awhile and he won every time and said, ' I am winning Gramma and I am not even trying". Gotta love it, out of the mouth of babes!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but it was'nt until I started having serious trials that I really understood what I had. All those yrs where I was taught that Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ knew me by name meant something, and I began to rely and trust that they were aware of what I was going through and truley cared about me. My prayers were more earnest and I was recieving answers (some undeniable) and I felt a protection and guidence. I am so grateful to have gained experience and a stronger testimony of how much the Lord loves his children through those trials...even though I did not enjoy having trials...grateful for the blessings and lessons learned.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week with my family and I have been called to serve the ladies in the ward. I help to plan out a monthly event, ususally in the evening where we learn things to help us in many catagory's. One night we got together and made Berevement Kits for the local hospitals for still born children so there mothers had something they could take home with them at that most difficult time. Sometimes we have lessons are gardening, budgeting and cooking Artisian Bread was a favorite of mine. I am so grateful for the opportuntiy to go to church every week and to worship the Savior by partaking of the sacrament and remembering the great sacrifices he made on my behalf and the sons and daughters of man.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Over the years I have really come to understand the importance of the Word of Wisdom. We have some family members that struggle with alcohol addition and we first hand are aware of the blessings that come from abstaining from addictive properties. I also know there is so much truth to how we feel physically when we eat healthy and take care of our physical bodies. Mentally and spiritually I feel more alert and it tune with what is going on around me by following the Word of Wisdom. In many instances Prophets are given information way ahead of time before it would make sense. Now most people believe this is sound wisdom. Show more Show less
