Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm an amateur editor, a baker, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I got accepted to the school of my dreams and plan to major in English Language and minor in Editing. For the past couple of years, I have found a love for grammar and would love to pursue a career in copy editing! I also am going to serve an 18-month mission in Ecuador starting in February. I'm super excited to grow spiritually and mentally and to help others come unto Christ. I love to bake pies, read good books, and simply socialize with my friends and family!

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I feel so much peace and joy! I've been a member my whole life, but I didn't gain a strong testimony of the gospel until last summer at an EFY (Especially For Youth) program. At EFY, there were about 400 youth attending my week-long session, so we were split up into many different "companies." Within each company are a few counselor groups. My counselor was so much fun and happy all of the time! Although there were 45 people in my company (the largest company on campus) we all grew close and had many great experiences together. On Thursday night, we gathered into the auditorium in our Sunday best and watched a large group of youth from our session sing (the Musical Program). After the program, a slideshow played with the hymn "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" in the background. As I quietly sat there in the auditorium, the Spirit filled my being and tears poured down my face with the joy of KNOWING that my Redeemer, Jesus Christ, lives! The rest of the night was very spiritual and amazing! After the fireside and program, my company and another company gathered into a classroom for a testimony meeting. I have never felt the Spirit stronger than in that classroom. I bore my testimony with many other youth. This simple experience strengthened my small testimony of the gospel and changed my life for the better.

How I live my faith

I attend Brigham Young University and absolutely love it! It's great to be able to go to school and know that my peers and instructors share my faith and values. I live my faith by waking up early in the morning to study the scriptures and by doing my family history work. It's amazing to see how something so small can make such a difference in my life. My true happiness is forever connected to my faithfulness to God's commandments.
