Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a wife, a mother, a singer, a dancer, a sewer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Las Vegas. My parent's divorced when I was five and my mom remarried when I was 13 to a wonderful man. I love my stepfamily like they are my real brothers and sisters. I went to school at BYU and I received my bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance. I married an amazing man and we have 2 beautiful children. They are hilarious and though I don't love every second of motherhood I try to enjoy each precious moment before it passes. I really love to sing and dance and create beautiful art. I try to take time everyday to be grateful for the blessings my Heavenly Father has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 14 I wanted to understand the faith I grew up in. I wanted to be a better person and not just go along with what my family believed. I remember one night praying to feel close to my Heavenly Father. Asking Him for a confirmation that He was aware of me and that He loved me. I felt surrounded in the arms of His love. To this day I can still feel the warmth and tenderness of that embrace. Whatever trials have come my way since that moment I have never forgotten that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and He loves me. I have tried to live my life in such a way that He would be pleased with me and know that I love Him so very dearly.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with many opportunities to serve in the LDS community through music. I have sung in the choirs, lead the choir and congregation and performed numerous solos. Some of my most enjoyable religious choral experiences have been in singing with Gladys Night's Saint's Unified Voices and in the Concert Choir at BYU. The love of God is tangible in uplifting music. I've also served in our women’s organization and have helped to plan activities that have fostered friendship and sisterhood within the community. I love that the gospel is so very personal and individual. Testimonies are strengthened one by one and with each experience we are able to grow stronger in our faith and our belief in the tender mercies of our Savior.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Jessica
This law gives us guidelines to protect the sacred procreative power that Heavenly Father has trusted us with. If sexual relations are kept within the bounds the Lord has set there can be infinite joy. I know that young women who struggle with self esteem can find great comfort in knowing that their bodies are sacred and do not need to be used for sexual attention. It is crucial to keep sexual relations reserved between a man and wife legally and lawfully married in order to fully understand the peace and power that comes with keeping God's commandments.
