Hi I'm Shirley Nance

I grew up in Oklahoma. I have lived in Idaho, Utah, Kansas and Arizona.

About Me

I am 65 years old and I have been on the volunteer staff at a Regional Family History center for the past 16 years. I have 35 years of genealogy research experience, and I love Family History and helping patrons in our communities to locate and record their ancestry. I am recently retired and have 3 daughters and 11 wonderful grandchildren. My family and the church are the top priorities in my life. I am so blessed to have A Good Life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all my life. As a small child, I lived in a small town in Oklahoma. Our family was one of the few members of the church in the area. I grew up with friends of several religions. I would go with my family to church during the day on Sunday's and attend the different church meetings in the evening. Even as a young child, I can never remember a time in my life where I did not know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the true church, and that it is lead by a Prophet. I know that our Savior, Jesus Christ, is the only begotten son of a Perfect Heavenly Father, who loves us, and wants us to have joy and happiness in our lives. Jesus Christ died for the sins of our world, and through His infinite atonement, we can, through obedience, return to live with Him and Heavenly Father after this life.

How I live my faith

Through my experiences in the acitivities I have had during my life, my faith grows each day. I have served in the women's Relief Society, the Young Women's Program, taught LDS Seminary for 4 years, and have served on Family History Center staffs for 25 years. THESE CALLINGS have been MY LIFE's BLOOD ..that carries me through my life in all that I do. I can NEVER imagine not serving or being a part of the Lord's Gospel.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Shirley Nance
Everything created in and on our earth is beautiful. We only have to take a walk, listen to nature, smell the flowers, look up into the universe on a clear night, see a baby born, a loved one leave earthly life, and listen to our heart to know and feel there is a God (our Heavenly Father) that loves us dearly and wants us to be with Him throughout eternity.
