Hi I'm Andrea

I love my family, my faith, football and food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in South Texas and despite the cruel summers I am determined to stay here. The majority of my family is close by and I love them too much to go too far. Currently I am a stay at home mom of two precious girls. As a mom I take great pleasure in teaching my children anything and everything they are willing to learn. Our family loves sports and food and our lives outside of church and school revolve around those two things. We look forward to the day when the head of the house finishes his schooling and we can travel around the world to meet new people, experience different cultures, and try new tasty creations.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a mormon and have never doubted that this is the Lord's true church upon the earth. The teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have helped me in every aspect of my life. To know that I am a child of God and that my life has meaning and purpose brings me such joy. I know that God loves me and that He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth. He is our exemplar, our redeemer, our Savior. He atoned for our sins and made it possible for us to someday to return to our Father in Heaven and live in his presence. I know that true happiness is found when we are obedient to the Lord's commandments and if our lives aren't in harmony with the Lord's teachings that we can always repent. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that through him the gospel has been restored. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon and that it is true. I love reading it and applying the teachings within to my own life. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today who is called of God and he is the Lord's mouthpiece on the earth. Again, I am grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, I know he lives.

How I live my faith

When I quit working to take care of my daughter a few years ago I told myself that I would take every opportunity to serve not only in the church but in my community. I am realistic of course and I realize that with two small children I can't do all the good things my heart desires but I do what I can. Whenever I have the opportunity to donate my time or resources to those in need I try to do so. For example, we take our family down to the food bank every year around the holidays to donate a turkey and other food items to those who need. We realize what we give isn't much but we know that every little bit helps. In the church I serve in the Primary, a children's organization. I have the opportunity to teach the children that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them. We teach them about prayer, fasting, service, and many other things that can help them in their everyday life. I also participate in a homeschool group with a few other families. We take turns teaching a small group of children. I do this in hopes of instilling in our children a love of learning to help them become contributing members of society someday.
