Hi I'm Rachel

I'm an army wife and a homemaker with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a small homestead farm with several goats, a llama, chickens, and guinea fowl. I keep very busy milking goats and running my home, and feel very blessed that I am able to live in the peacefulness and beauty of the country. I have a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and plan on using it later down the road, as I love the field and I love the work. Right now I am enjoying my first pregnancy and my husband and I are preparing for the adventures of parenthood!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a mormon, but it wasn't until I turned twenty two that I was fully converted. When I was sixteen I left the church to explore other avenues and instead wandered for 6 years living a life that was devoid of much meaning. When I was ready I returned to the familiarity of my childhood religion, but this time my life experiences made me appreciate the gospel in ways I never before understood. For the first time I truly understood that I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father who knows and loves me, no matter my imperfections. I am infinitely grateful for my Savior's sacrifice and his atoning blood that has allowed me to be forgiven and to forgive myself when I have gone astray. I understand now that living higher standards means greater freedom in body and spirit, and I have come to cherish the sacred scriptures that bring me closer to my Savior and Heavenly Father. Being an army wife, I am grateful for a religious organization that is the same no matter where you go, and every congregation is filled with people who are serving, loving, striving, and struggling just like me. I know we have a living prophet on the earth today, just as in times of old, who leads and guides us by divine instruction from the Lord. I know that the happiness and peace in my life is a direct result of my faith and the blessings that come from following the Savior. I am not perfect, but I know that my efforts are never wasted and are strengthened by His love and mercy. I also know that it is never too late to turn to Christ, and that His love will guide us through any obstacles or challenges present.

How I live my faith

I am blessed to work with the youth in the church, and am in the presidency organization specifically over the teenage girls. I love watching them grow in faith and testimony, and it never ceases to amaze me how young people will stand up for what they believe in and what is right despite the ever-lowering standards of the world.
