Hi I'm Daxton

I love music. I do the Spartacus. I am a two-time hurricane survivor. I am a full-time missionary. And I am a Mormon. Oh yeah.

About Me

My name is Daxton. I grew up in Utah! I love playing the piano and the guitar. I love sports, especially basketball. I love hanging out with my friends doing crazy ridiculous stuff. I river-dance to the sample music in Wal-Mart. I can bend the pinky on my right hand all the way back, but that's the only finger that can do it. I love the cold! I lived in Minnesota for 6 years and it messed up my internal thermostat. I tend to repeat stories I've told several times. My family is one of the greatest blessings in my life. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I love them and stuff. I am currently serving a mission in the Boston Massachusetts area, preaching love and peace with other well-dressed guys in Spanish! I work 24/7 teaching people how to find the happiness that the gospel has brought to my life. Life is good. Live it up! Legit.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me as a Mormon, so it has been a part of me all of my life. But as I got older, I needed to find out for myself that it was right. So I studied, prayed, and lived the way I was supposed to, and I learned for myself that being a Mormon was the best thing for me. I am a Mormon because I have learned that by myself, I cannot be happy. I make mistakes every day, and these weigh down on me a lot. But I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can be washed clean of all my mistakes and be strengthened in my resolve to do my best. Jesus Christ has given me the strength to live every day the best I can. He has helped me through hard times in my life. I have felt His love for me on so many different occasions. I know He lives. I know that He loves me. I know that He will lift us up in the exact moments that we need it. He is my Savior. He is my best friend.

How I live my faith

As a missionary, I am a representative of Jesus Christ. I teach people about our loving Heavenly Father and His plan for us here on Earth. I teach about the healing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the strength and peace we can recieve from it. I teach how to gain a better, more personal relationship with our Savior. To be the best representative of Jesus Christ that I can be, I am required to follow specific guidelines. I get up at 6:30 every morning and go to bed at 10:30 every night. I do not watch TV or movies, listen to my favorite music, or even flirt with girls! Some of these things are hard, but I have seen the blessings of being perfectly obedient and keeping my focus on my teachings. As I live these teachings and these guidelines, my determination to be the best I can be is strengthened. I truly can be an example of the believers. I love this Gospel. It has brought so much happiness into my life. I live my faith by sharing it with others.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Daxton
How would you get to know someone else? You talk to them! Our Heavenly Father is the same way. We get to know Him by talking to Him. You are one of His children. He loves you. He wants you to talk to Him, just as much as your own father would. Talk to Him about anything and everything. We can speak to our Heavenly Father through prayer. He speaks back to us through the scriptures, and also through thoughts and impressions. Heavenly Father does not leave prayers unanswered. He will answer us, but in His own time. That could be right then and there, or it could be a few months down the road. But our Heavenly Father will not leave us out to dry. He is there, and He is listening. I know He is. What is faith?

Daxton
Faith is, of course, believing in something you can't see. Like believing the sun will come up every day, or that from a small little acorn will grow a gigantic tree. Faith isn't just that belief, however. Having faith means acting on what you believe. If I have faith that I can learn to play a song on the piano, I need to practice that song! Our faith is centered in Jesus Christ. Although we cannot see Him, we know that He is there. We know that He suffered for us, and that through His sacrifice and mercy, that we can live with God again. We can't see that result right now, but we know that it is achievable. It is achievable through acting on that belief of something that we cannot see. Show more Show less
