Hi I'm Kathleen

I grew up in Iowa. My family is very important to me. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I am a homemaker at this time but I have had various part time jobs over the years. My family is very important to me and I enjoy spending time with them. I like researching family history. I love reading. My favorites are "cozy" mysteries. I like doing word puzzles, bicycle riding and needlework. Fall is my favorite time of year. I like being able to help people.

Why I am a Mormon

When my children were little I was struggling with what I should teach them. I could not decide which church to attend. I agreed with some things and disagreed with other things I had been taught at the churches I had attended. I prayed about this as best I could for help. The missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints knocked at my door a few months later. They taught me the correct way to pray and, most importanatly, that I can receive answers. As I was taught about Joseph Smith, I had a witness of the Spirit that he was a prophet. As I read the Book of Mormon I knew that it was the word of God. I am grateful know that Jesus Christ lives and we continue to have a living prophet today. I am grateful to know that families can be forever. I am grateful that my children know what to teach my grandchildren.

How I live my faith

I have taught in many classes for children over the years. Most recently I served for over five years as president of the women's organization in our congregation. I volunteered at a Family History Center for many years organizing and teaching classes about family history research. I am a visiting teacher and I help some ladies who don't drive get to needed appointments. My mother is in frail health and I help her each week.
