Hi I'm Brian

I grew up and lived in Utah until the past couple of years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 4 and grandfather of 1. I cannot believe I am old enough to have a grandchild. I graduated from college with a degree in Business Management, but have spend most of my career in the IT and Construction industries. I really enjoy music and have something of an ecletic taste. I like Rock, Country, Jazz, New Age, Classical, etc. I enjoy camping, fishing, golfing (especially with my son and my Dad), woodworking, and spending as much time as I can with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a very active Mormon family. As the youngest member of my family, I had great role models in my older siblings. It was always easy to believe when you have never known another way. However, I think everyone has to have a reason to stay active in the church. I remember in high school trying to decide if serving a mission for the church was right for me. I spent a lot of time praying to determine if this was really the right thing for me to do. After praying one day, I remember that the answer came very clearly to my mind that I was to serve a mission, but there was more. I also gained a testimony and witness that day... that not only was going out to serve a mission right, but also that the church, the gospel, the prophets and their teachings were also right and true. All of it was true. As the struggles of everyday life have come, I have always been able to fall back to that witness that I recieved on that warm summer afternoon. The gospel of Jesus Christ is true. His teachings are in the Bible and in a the Book of Mormon, and together, hand in hand, present the fullness of His gospel. The Book of Mormon is not different, it is just another testimony of Christ's teachings. Christ truly appeared and taught the people of the Book of Mormon the same as He did in the New Testament.

How I live my faith

In our ward, I am the young mens president. That means that I, along with two counselors, have responsibility for the young men ages 12-18. We have sunday quorum meetings and on tuesdays we have activities. The Tuesday activites are often centered around scouting and merit badges, especially for the younger boys. We also try to have activities for the older boys that will give them exposure to different careers. All these activities are intended to help them be prepared for things to come in both everyday life and spiritually. In our family, we also study the scriptures together and individully each day as well as have a family prayer together each day. This really brings us closer together as a family and helps us focus more on each other than ourselves. It also helps
