Hi I'm Jackie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in Northern Vermont. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two amazing daughters. We moved to Upstate New York about 5 years ago. I love life and try to keep a positive attitude.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a mormon because it helps me be a better person. The first thing that impressed me about the Mormons is the importance they put on the family unit. Although I did not have children when I joined the church, I wanted an eternal family. Marriages were falling apart all around me and I was going to do all that I could to avoid that in my marriage. The gospel teaches us how to make marriages work. I was also impressed with the missionaries. These young men and women take two years of their lives to share this messege with us so we can have eternal lives. They were so knowledgable. I had come from a church that gave no answers about lifes most important questions. Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? These are questions of the soul that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints answers. I am so gratful for the Savior Jesus Christ who atoned for my sins. I never thought I was worthy of that gift but I now know that I am a daughter of God and his sacrifice was for all mankind. The more I learned about the church the more I felt the spirit testify to me of its truthfulness. I remember feeling the Holy Ghost touch my heart and tell me it was all true. I now live in the cradle of the restoration and love the spirit that is here as I visit the sacred sites. I didn't need to live here to feel the spirit of it but being here certainly lifts my spirits.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by learning all that I can and applying it to my life. My first and foremost responsibility in serving Heavenly Father is by being a good wife and mother. I have been blessed to be a stay at home mom. I can't tell you how many times I have felt the importance of being with my children at all of the crossroads in their lives, especially as teenagers. I pray every day for guidance to be the best I can for them. I have had many callings in the church and try to do whatever I can do to help the kingdom grow. There are no small callings. Everything that Heavenly Father asks us to do is for our good or the good of others. I am so gratful for prophets. I have a testimony that if we follow his council that comes from the Lord that we can and will be protected from the bad things of the world. Being obedient has many blessings. I just try to be a better person today than I was yesterday.
