Hi I'm Adele

I'm a Mormon. I have always been a member of the LDS church. I grew up on a farm with 5 sisters and 2 brothers in Afton Wyoming.

About Me

I have five children, 3 daughters and 2 sons, and 4 granddaughters and 2 great-grandchildren. I love spending time with my family. My brothers and sisters and all our families have a reunion every year and we send out a family letter through email every month to keep in contact with each other. I am retired now. I have been a computer programmer for over 40 years and love everything to do with a computer. I went to college in my later years. I started in college when I was 47 years old and graduated when I was 53 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minor in Math. I love to learn new things and I continually read and do research on many topics. I love doing service in my family, church and community. It makes me feel good to be able to help out when I can.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into an active LDS family and had always had a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel, I received a stronger testimony in my late 20s when I had a desire to know more about the gospel principles. I went to religion classes given by leaders in our church who were very good teachers and inspired me to learn more. I read the scriptures and prayed and pondered about all the things that I had always heard about. I fasted and prayed and made some changes in my life to improve myself. I really gained a strong testimony after working hard. Now I continue to learn about the gospel and read the scriptures every day. My favorite is the Book of Mormon and I try to read at least one chapter every day. Sometimes it is so hard to put the scriptures down that I end up reading a lot more. I have a strong testimony of the power of personal prayer. It humbles me every time that I receive answers to my prayers because I know that my Father in Heaven hears me and knows me and loves me.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday and partake of the sacrament to remember the atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I love to continue to learn more about His teachings. I pay an honest tithing and I have received many financial blessings over the years. I will never be rich, but I will always have what I need. I love to give service to the members of my ward and associate with those good people. It makes my life seem worthwhile. I am active in the singles program in my church and help with activities with other single members.
