Hi I'm Gordon

I'm a Mormon. I'm on my 2nd career. I'm a real estate agent in Seattle after 30 years as a radio personality here.

About Me

I'm married 37 years. My wife and I met in highschool but were just friends until we began dating about 3 years into college. We have 2 boys and a girl and 8 grandchildren. Favorite vacation destination is Maui, but we also love road trips and drove to Banf an Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies this summer. My wife must stop at all knitting and quilt shops and me a golf and guitar shops.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormon and I was baptised at 8 years old which the church believes it the beginng of the age of accountability. Having been born into the faith I think I took it for granted and didn't bother seeking a firm testimony of it's truthfulness for myself, having parents, siblings and other members faith to lean on. I think that because of that I became inactive for about 13 years. That gave the world plenty of time to beat me up and I felt the need finally to find out personally if the gospel was true. So following things I'd been taught in my youth I read the scriptures and prayed for an answer and eventually able to know the truth through the spirit of the Holy Ghost. Since then my life has been so much more happy and purposeful. My relationships much more loving and fulfilling. I know where I came from, why I'm here, where I'm going and how to get there.

How I live my faith

I am now the Gospel Doctrine teacher in my ward. I'm also the Stake music specialist and help put on all the monthly youth dances. I have been a Stake high councilor, Bishop's councilor, Elders Quorum president. All of these callings have helped me to understand the love the Savior has for me and all his children. I go to church every week not just because I have this calling that I'm expected to do but because of the love of Jesus Christ that I feel in sacrament meetings and as I serve and am served by my brothers and sisters in the church. I volunteer for community service for the same reasons.
