Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm working as a mechanical engineer and trying to finish my master's degree. I'm a father of three. I don't seem to get much time for fun, but I like to skateboard, mountain bike, and run. I love being a husband and a father. My family is my life and I want to be with them forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Pacific Northwestern United States by Mormon parents who taught me the gospel. As I became a teenager and young adult I wanted to live the lifestyle of my friends and left the church for several years. In 2001 I moved to Arizona and, not having any friends, I had a chance to think long and hard about what I wanted for my life. I returned to church, started reading the Book of Mormon, and learned what if felt like to have a confirmation of truth from the spirit of the Holy Ghost. I know that the Gospel is true. God has not left us here alone. He communicates with us directly through personal revelation. He has also chosen a prophet to lead his church. The joy and peace that the gospel have brought to my life are far greater than anything I've ever experienced.

How I live my faith

I help keep the church records for our ward. Saving ordinances such as baptism show our commitment to God and are needed to return to His presence when we leave this life. I'm glad I can help keep track of these for our ward and help our Bishop identify needs of our ward members. It is a daily struggle to avoid sin. I receive strength by reading my scriptures and going to church on Sunday. I try to memorize scriptures and words to hymns to help my remember Christ when I am tempted. Mormons are sinners just as all of Gods children and are in constant need of repentance through His atoning sacrifice.
