Hi I'm Kevin McAvoy

I grew up in New Jersey. I have served a mission in Massachusetts.

About Me

I love this Gospel with all my heart for the way it has shaped me into the person I am today. I did not grow up with many members were I lived but yet the Gospel had a profound impact in my life. Right now I am attending College in Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come to know my savior, Jesus Christ, very well through repentance and through relying on his Atonement for the trials and tribulations that come in each of our lives. I recognize that I am nothing and I would be nowhere were it not for the Savior! No matter what difficulty comes into my life I know that the most important thing is to never walk away from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ because they will never walk away from me. Why am I a Mormon... because I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon in its entirety and have prayed to know if it is true. It would be impossible for me to describe my experience in receiving my answer to my prayer but what I can say is that I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. My experience though, even if I were to be able to adequately describe it, will not compare to your own experience in reading the Book of Mormon and praying to find the truth yourself. It will be an amazing moment, one that will change the way you look at yourself and the world. You will come to have a deep understanding that you are much more than just another creature on this earth. You are a child of a loving Father in Heaven who knows you by name and who is waiting for you to make the right decisions and be baptized so that you can come back to his loving arms. That’s why I am a Mormon because I have come to understand that one important doctrine… I am a child of God.

How I live my faith

My responsibilities in the Church include a leader of the teenage boys ages 14-15. I also am a Home teacher, which includes going to assigned families in our ward (congregation) and teaching the Gospel and making sure that their needs are being meet both on spiritual level and also on a physical and emotional level as well.
