Hi I'm Sherrie

I have lived in Arizona all my life. I have three children- two surviving-my family is my happiness. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family they are my life! Oh yes, and then there are horses... I have a great love for horses and have been blessed to be able to have them. I have always felt that Heavenly Father placed these animals here to bless us- I have had a job since I was 15 and currently work with my husband in our business. I have three children, one of which passed on two years ago. Oh- how I miss him! There is not one day that goes by that I dont think of him. My other two children are married now and I have two and a half grandchildren =)

Why I am a Mormon

My family was not active in the church and in the summertime I would go to my grandmother house to stay for awhile- I was maybe about 7 or 8 years old. I remember going to church with them and wondering why I couldnt understand what the preacher man was saying and I started to wonder things and had questions that no one could answer. A year or so went by my parents started to go to the LDS Church I was maybe about 11 and I started to ask questions and they answered my questions- I had been praying for answers. One day while I was sitting in church I had a feeling that came over me from the top of my head to my feet and in my mind I heard "this is the true church Sherrie- Joseph Smith was truly a prophet of God"! To this day I will never deny that I know that this is Heavely Father's Church upon the earth! I have always felt so very blessed to have been given such a testimony of His church and it has blessed my life with more than words can ever say.

How I live my faith

I have always thought that Heavenly Father watches us and I want so badly for Him to be proud of me that I truly try to live my life so that He will be proud of me. I try to be a good neighbor-at christmastime I love to bake so I go over to all the neighbors on my block and give them goodies and my sweet husband delivers jars and jars of his homemade salsa to friends and neighbors. I LOVE to serve and help people- I spend many hours serving the needy and the sick whether its making meals, calling others to help or even just a hug. I have a great compassion for suffering and it brings me such joy to help them. I have felt so very blessed in my life that I want to do what I can to help others.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

We all die to live and live to die. After our son died I became so grateful for the Plan of Salvation- Heavenly Fathers plan- that we all came to this earth after Adam and Eve to obtain a physical body- to learn through our choices-experiences and to strive to follow Jesus and because of the atonement we can be forgiven and be resurrected as He was. We will be able to return to our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ. Because of the sacred blessings of the temple we are sealed to our families forever. So I know that someday I will be able to be with my son and our family forever. So, death is a part of life and after death is eternity. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

My very existence tells me there is a God. How did we get here and why are we here? If you have ever had a great tragedy in your life- ask yourself this, "who do you go to for help"? Who could ever understand all that you are going through? Why do we have the bible or Book of Mormon?- They are both witnesses of Christ and God. If they are a history then isn't it a blessing that we were given these books that tell us of Them and the history of people and their struggles in life to know that they too- had suffered and searched for God and found Him - He guided them and blessed them even as He is now. These things give us hope and without hope we cant have faith and with faith all things are possible- for we need no proof. We KNOW - so I KNOW in the depths of my soul that there is a God and Jesus Christ and they know me and love me for I have felt them and seen Their hands in my life. It is by far the greatest blessing I have been given in my life- and that is a testimony of Jesus Christ. If I were to able to give anything on this earth to a person it would be a testimony of Jesus Christ- for their is nothing greater here or in eternity- for by Him I know there is a God, for He is his father and all else is because of Him.
