Hi I'm Michelle

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I am a wife, and mother to four sweet children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in sunny Mesa, Arizona. I moved to Washington State when I was 19 years old (tired of so much sun, I guess), and met my husband. We've now been married over 11 years and have four amazing children. I love being creative. I enjoy painting, decorating, sleeping, baking, singing, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. I love guitar and piano, and would love to learn to play both.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka Mormon) is a beautiful thing! I was fortunate enough to be born into a home with parents who loved the gospel. My mother especially is a kind loving person who taught me the gospel at a young age. I can remember one day when she was sitting on the floor with me (I was about 4 at the time) and we were folding towels fresh from the dryer. She held a towel behind the dryer door and asked me how I knew it was there. Then she taught me about faith, how you can know something is real and true, even if you can't see it. It was in that same home, where I remember looking out my parents' bedroom window at the sun's rays shining through the clouds and wondering if that was Jesus coming back to Earth... Unfortunately, life isn't always as beautuful and peaceful as those memories. The sun doesn't always shine. Life can be cold, painful and messy at times. But this is where the light of the gospel shines. Because of my faith, I can pray to a loving Heavenly Father and my Savior for hope and comfort. I can turn to The Scriptures and to a living Prophet for cousel and guidance. And because my husband and I were sealed in the temple, I can take comfort in knowing that whatever happens in life, if we are righteous, we can be a forever family. These are beautiful blessings.

How I live my faith

Me, my husband, and children are active members of our church. We go to church on Sundays, and often have mid-week meetings as well. Members of the church are given responsibilities we refer to as "callings." My calling involves organizing a monthly meeting for the women in the church. I love this calling because we try to keep the meetings fun and informative. It also gives me a chance to get to know the sisters in the ward as well as becoming familiar with their talents and strengths. And for me personally, it gives me opportunities to work on leadership skills and overcoming my shyness! In addition to that, I also have the responsibility of being a Visiting Teacher. As a V.T., I am assigned 3 women in the ward with whom I am to visit each month. It's a great way to build friendships and help everyone feel involved. Monday nights are reserved for Family Home Evenings (FHE).
