Hi I'm Amy

I am a mother of 4 with a wonderful husband. I teach high school math and love it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I teach high school math and just finished my master's degree. I love music and am teaching myself to play the violin. I love to garden and can the fruits and vegetables that we grow. I love food! I love to try to fix new things. I enjoy cookbooks. I love to read, especially reading aloud to my children. I love to learn to do new things, knit, crochet, paint, whatever. I just like to learn about it and try it. I live in the White Mountains of Arizona. I am a born and raised Arizonian! I have 4 children, a girl and three boys. Oh, I also have a husband and he is the best! We love to swim, fish, play soccer, basketball, and garden. My favorite sport is volleyball. We live outside in the summer. I love the cool weather here in the White Mountains! Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

As a youth, I grew up hearing my mom's conversion story about how she was reading and praying and blind as she was, when she asked for an answer while on a mountain one day, she could see forever. I wanted to know that for myself. I had read the bible and book of mormon. I decided to pray. I didn't have a miraculous incident, but I felt the spirit speak to my heart that Jesus is the living Christ, my Savior and my Redeemer. It was the most wonderful peaceful feeling. I knew that only through him, I could be saved. I knew that in this Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the priesthood of God was on the earth. It was restored by Joseph Smith. By this priesthood, families can be sealed together forever. I know that families are the center of our Heavenly Father's plan. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ, we can be together with our families, we can repent, we can return to live with God!

How I live my faith

I teach children in our church and try to help them learn about Jesus. I work with the children and try to organize activities that will encourage them to choose the right. I work with the Boy Scouts program to help get leaders trained to help our youth be the best citizens and people they can be. I volunteer on a local board that funds different programs that care for children under 5. I believe that we need to take part in our community and stand up for that which is good and right. If we don't, then who will. I want to be an advocate for my children. I attend the local school board meetings faithfully. I love the community in which I live. We have the best people here. I try to help neighbors in the community by visiting the sick and bringing in meals when needed and cleaning the homes of those that are down for a bit. Our family tries to be self-reliant in all we do. Education is important. I try to help others learn as much as they can and participate in teaching when needed. I think that the best way to live the faith is always trying to do what Jesus would do if he were here! Our family motto is "Be Kind and Do Your Best!"
