Hi I'm Blaine Hancock

I'm a Network Administrator. I enjoy helping others and having loads of fun with my family. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

Things I love to do with my wife and 3 girls are: outdoor activities (like camping, hiking, & site seeing), sports activities (like biking "consisting of me and my wife each pulling a trailer with our girls inside them", swimming, & playing in the park), and playing games (like hide and seek & doing puzzles together). We have been looking at going fishing as a family which sounds really fun. My wife home schools our children which has been a huge learning experience for her, myself, and our children. This experience has been most rewarding when we see our children retaining the things that they have learned.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which I am very grateful. When I was 17, I was attending a seminary class during release time at high school. We were studying the Book of Mormon. The seminary teacher gave us a challenge to read the whole Book of Mormon and pray and ask God if it was true. I took this challenge and boy was it a challenge for me. I never did enjoy reading and to read the Book of Mormon which consisted of 531 pages did not sound very exciting to me, but when my seminary teacher gave that challenge I felt a strong feeling comforting me and helping me to feel excited about the challenge. So I took the challenge and read the Book of Mormon. When I finished I remember distinctively kneeling by my bed. I began to pray to Heavenly Father asking him if the Book of Mormon was true. Shortly after asking I felt a perfect peaceful feeling coming over me and still small voice telling me, "Of Course, you know it true." After I felt and heard that spoken to me, I knew that the Book of Mormon was from God and that it was true. I can't deny that. The Spirit of the Lord told me so. I will never forget that special feeling that I felt. I testify that the Book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ. If you really what to know why I am a Mormon then I highly suggest that you find out if the Book of Mormon is true by reading it and asking God if it is true.

How I live my faith

I have been given a calling to assist our local Bishop with finances. It is very humbling to me to see the love and devotion that members have for the Lord in paying tithing and fast offerings. All the money that is donated is used to build the kingdom of God on the earth and non is used to pay clergy. The clergy and members donate their time through serving others.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Blaine Hancock
As I have studied the scriptures on a daily basis, I have come to know my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ better. I have felt the Spirit of the Lord touch me in such a way that my desires to do good have increased. I have felt better about who I am and have learned how to find true happiness in my life. I am grateful that the Lord has blessed us with these scriptures. Show more Show less
