Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in Montana. I married John Wayne and have a daughter. I love working with people, especially in hospice. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother. I just graduated with my Bachelors in Sociology and I am working on applying to graduate school to become a Social Worker. I want to work as a hospice social worker. I got my certified nurses assistant in high school and it is what made me want to become a hospice social worker. I love to play the piano and listen to my daughter sing primary songs as I play. I love to read and will devour almost any book quite willingly. I really enjoy crafts and have recently become addicted to quilting. I love exploring new areas, especially in the places I live.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon by choice, but my parents are also members. I chose to stick with the faith of my parents and grandparents because I believe that it is the true church on the Earth. I am Mormon because of the principles that are found in the church can be found in the Bible. I know that the Lord lives and provides for our return. I know that His love for all of His children is inclusive and that there needs to be a way back to Him. I am Mormon because of the principles of Eternal marriage, Eternal families, Priesthood lineage, and foremost the principle of the Atonement. I chose to become Mormon because the Atonement. I chose to become Mormon because it was the only choice if I wanted to become a true disciple of Christ. One of the best things about why I am Mormon though, is the love I get to feel from my Heavenly Father, who I know loves me, and that I in turn get to feel a greater love for my neighbors.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live right and remember the sacrifice the Lord made for me. I live my faith by keeping our home centered on Christ to the best of my human abilities.I read my scriptures with my husband and we read the picture scriptures with our daughter when we can get her to sit still. I teach my daughter the primary songs about Christ because of her love for music and she is learning the principles that are my responsibility as her mother to teach her. I practice being better to other people, because I am to love my neighbor more than myself. I am a human being striving to bring out the divine nature we all have so I live my faith through practice, because that is how I become better. I live my faith by attending religious classes outside of the Sunday meetings I go to each week. I live my faith by going to church each Sunday. I do the conducting for the womens groups music, and I also select the songs that we are to sing that Sunday. I am also called as a visiting teacher, basically an assigned friend to two women.
