Hi I'm Darr

I am a Deputy Sheriff for my local county. I love hunting, exercising, playing/coaching sports, and most importantly my family

About Me

My name is Darr. I have a beautiful wife and eternal campanion that I was married to in December of 2007. I have 4 kids (3 boys and 1 girl). I served a full time mission with the church from July 2005-July 2007. I have worked as a Correctional Officer/Correctional Sergeant at an Arizona State facility for 2.5 years. I then worked at an Idaho prison facility for 4 years as a Lieutenant. I am currently a Deputy Sheriff for my local county and I am assigned to the detention center (jail). I have a love for sports, exercising, and hunting. I love spending time with my family. One of my wife's and I's favorite past time is to go couponing at the local grocery stores. We now enjoy spending our busy weeks shuttling kids to and from sports practices and friends houses. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life and has led me to truly know that I have a Savior that loves me and knows me.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 8 years old I was baptised into the church. I converted to the church when I was 18 years old. Between those times I was considered "innactive." With the help of a now ex-girlfriend I came to find the happiness of the Lord, his Atonement, and his restored gospel. I was told that if I did not go to church, I would not get to go on dates with this girl. I didn't believe her and she did not back down on that promise. So I went to church and went through the motions for a time and then that relationship came to an end and so did my activity in the church. Through the following weeks I felt an emptiness in my life and could not figure out what it was. One Sunday morning I woke up and decided that i was going to give this church thing another go. The experience I had was undescribable and since then I have been continuously active in the faith. Shortly after I served a 2 year mission with the church and taught many others of the happiness and blessings that I have recieved from the gospel. It has changed my life. I have seen it change others lives. I have seen it change my immediate family members lives. The happiness that come through the gospel is truley as I have stated undescribable. I know that God has restored his church through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the Book of Mormon is an inspired book of scripture translated through the power of god. I know that there is a living breathing prophet on the earth today than continues to receive revalation so that we may know the desires of our Father in Heaven. I know these things to be true because I have studied them, pondered them, and prayed about them and the Holy Ghost has manifested unto me that these things are true. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have been involved in the youth program and helping them understand the importance of serving their fellow men. I have been involved with many service projects with the church and helping others in time of need. I have been in charge of organizing weekly sporting activities.
