Hi I'm Rae

Born mormon, raised mormon and choose daily to remain mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors, especially when riding my bikes. I love mountain biking and road biking when the mountains are too wet or too snowy. I love hiking, telemark skiing, rock climbing, rafting, camping, you name it. My husband and I try to spend as much time outside as possible. I also am a certified therapeutic horseback riding instructor. I manage other instructors and work with children, teens and adults with disabilities and teach them riding skills and hopefully life skills. I have worked with the youth in my church as long as I have been married. I love people, I love helping people and showing them they can do anything they set their minds to.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it just makes sense. Living prophets to guide us, organized leadership, stewardship for one another, the social support network in visiting teaching and home teaching, humanitarian aid, church education system, weekly church experience, laws of heaven, personal revelation, the list goes on. The deeper reason I am a mormon is because my soul and heart have felt the strong testifying truthfulness of the principles and doctrines of the church. I have many friends from many different religions, belief and lack of belief, it all comes down to how you feel and what you choose to believe. I find the LDS (mormon) church to be the full truth of Christ's church on the earth today. I also have made the choice to believe, my faith and hope bring me joy and fulfillment, that is the point of this life after all, "Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy".

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always trying to improve and doing what I can to help others do the same. I try each day to do as much as possible. I don't always succeed, but trying is just as important. I also live my faith by being a good example of a mormon, I want people to know me and think, "those mormon's aren't so bad, maybe I should get to know more mormons". Service is a very important part of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I have been given the coolest opportunity to serve in my church, I get to work with the youth. Young women specifically from ages 12-18. I teach the older class (16-18 year olds) most Sundays and help plan enriching activities during the week. These young women build my faith and make me a better person, I am fortunate to be a very small part of their lives. I also get to serve as a visiting teacher, this is a monthly contact with a few women in the ward that I have been assigned. This job gives me the opportunity to practice acting as Christ's hands.
