Hi I'm Tyson

I grew up on a ranch. I shoot guns. I like metal detectors, soccer, rock climbing, and the outdoors. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an office manager for a construction company. I love my job. I enjoy learning new things and developing new talents. Recently, I watched a Youtube video showing how to change the water pump in a Chevy 2500. It took me all day but I did it! I saved the company money AND I learned some new skills. I graduated from College majoring in Business Management-Finance and really want to help others with their money. My favorite hobbies involve family and outdoors. I mountain bike, rock climb, hike, shoot guns, and play soccer. Last year my team won a city league tournament. I also like hunting for coins! On a recent trip I pulled out my White's Spectrum and found $13 dollars in the sand. I love my family. We don't need much to keep us entertained. Within a matter of minutes we will have some friendly competition in the weirdest thing. i.e. see how many stairs you can jump up, or who see who can show the best smile while going down on a ab roller. Life is great!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by really good parents who taught me and my brothers the gospel. I wanted to know for my self the God is real, that Jesus is the Savior, and that his church was restored on the earth. I remember praying one night asking God if the gospel my parents taught me was true. The vividly remember the words, "Well, have you read the Book of Mormon?" The answer for me was no. That night, I committed to read the whole book. As I exercised faith in reading the book and living by its teachings my testimony grew: It wasn't all of a sudden, it was step-by-step. I have a conviction that no one can take away from me. God gave me an answer I can't deny. I rely on the Atonement of Jesus Christ and wish everyone would use it. Christ suffered ALL that we don't have to. It's as easy as asking. "ask and ye shall receive" One of the greatest gifts God has given us is agency. We are free to choose life and liberty or death and captivity. I believe life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we respond. Everyone falls short and it is truly amazing how the atonement can fill in the gaps and can heal all wounds. I have experienced it first hand. Jesus is our Savior.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher for the brothers in our church. Once a month, I have the opportunity to study and prepare a lesson based on a yearly manual called Gospel Principles. This has been one of my favorite callings because I learn so much and it helps me live closer to the spirit. And when I live closer to the spirit I am over all happier.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We don't partake of that stuff because it interferes with listening to the spirit. AND it isn't healthy for our bodies. Understanding the spirit is seriously a talent that has to be practiced. The spirit speaks with love, peace, joy, a still small voice. Gal 5:22 Show more Show less
