Hi I'm Cherise

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happy person who loves to help others. I work full time out of the house. I have two beautiful girls that are complete opposite of each other. I have two wonderful step children and a husband that I couldn't live without. I love to bake!! When I have time I like to camp, fish, lots of outdoor things. I have recently started doing zumba excercise, and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church from when I was younger. I only went to church with my Grandma when I was little. When I got older I got more stubborn and moved away from the church. The past 2 years I have become a very active member in the church. I can see now why my Grandma would always try and get me to go with her. I am so grateful for the power of prayer. When I started going back to church, I prayed to heavenly father asking him if this is the true church. I remember having an overwhelming feeling of warmth and security. From that point I knew without a doubt that this is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. He went through so many trials to bring the world the gospel. I know now that trials are here to make us stronger. Some trials are almost unbarring but the more you pray the more you are comforted. I am blessed to know that I will see my Grandma again and passed friends and family. I know the plan of salvation is real and a powerful part of the church. I am grateful for missionaries who brought my beautiful family back to the truth. I am grateful for my family and for all the trials that we have gone through to get us to where we are today. I am grateful for repentance. We are not perfect but we can be by learning to forgive others and having heavenly father forgive us. I know that Heavenly Father knows me personally and knows my weaknesses. At times I pray for patience, and I will be tested by having more things to be patient with. But in the end it makes me stronger. I am grateful for all the prophets and Thomas S. Monson. These are true prophets of God. I believe every word they say is true and meaningful. He does care about us and about our needs. I am grateful for tithing as well. Recently, I am a full tithe payer, i see now the blessings that I am receiving already and am truly grateful for my Savior. I love the church and love the leaders of the church.

How I live my faith

I am in the primary in our ward. I help teach the children about the gospel and come up with new ways to teach. Each week I am in charge of making assignments for the kids, like, having them say the prayer during class time. Each month the primary tries to meet and come up with fun ideas to learn new songs and getting to know you games. I love to teach the children. I learn so much from them. They teach me knew things each week. They are very bright and are always eager to learn. My kids are in primary as well and it has helped my 5 year old to make new friends. Last Halloween season, I helped organize our wards first trunk or treat. We had a great turn out despite the weather. Cars were lined up and kids were running around with there costumes to different cars to get the candy. We had a lot of people come just to see the kids. We have several elderly couples that we invited just to make them feel welcome. They were having just as much fun as the kids. I also do visiting teaching. I go with another woman in the ward to visit other women. We talk about our month and how it has been going. We check on them to see if they need anything, sometimes we bring little gifts or craft things. We share a small lesson and a recipe. It is a great way for me to get out of the house and able to hear about how some of the other sisters are doing. I am grateful for all the new sisters that I have met.
