Hi I'm Raymond.

I still live in the same town, in which I was born in 1939, in Lakeside. and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In my youth I was called by an uncle, (a brother of my father), the name; "Tarazan "or known asTarzan; my mother made my sort of pants (like shorts ) and that is all I had to wear. and I became brown from the sun, and was often sent as an errand boy either for family or friends. I enjoyed doing chores, like choping wood and milking cows not only for family but also for neighbors. I was doing things like that at the age of six years old, it was only before that ; only my parents had learned I had become deaf from having many childhood disease's. And so I was known as No Talk. After my mother had doctored my ears when ever they hurt to ease the pain, I was unable to hear anything untill then. It was about when I about nine years old, and then one day, as I was sitting in the woodbox, I exclamed ! to my mother, "Mother I can hear your voice". It was realy wonderful to hear my mother's voice for the first time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in 1939 being a fourth generation of Mormons. My great grandfather was the first in our family to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was introduced to the church by a man named Levi Stewart and was given a Book of Mormon. He started reading the Book of Mormon while tending a very sick daughter with a high fever ,he read all that day and all that night . he knew it was true when he had finished reading the book. I am the sixth of twelve children and now live in the same place where I was born. The very first book I read was the Book of Mormon. I had dificulty reading anything , and as I started reading the Book of Mormon in getting prepared for a mission, my reading the Book of Mormon from the first page to the last page was the best thing I had done. I was convinced of the truth of this sacred book from the very first time I had finished reading it. And I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My many church responsibilities have been very important in my understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ in this period of time in my life. May I say that some of my callings ,was in 1980--1982, as a teacher in the Prmary, teaching the 9 year old primary students ,and also being a secretary in 3 different organizations, first as a secretary for the Young Men , then as the Sunday School secretary and also as a secretary in the Priesthood organization and as a historian of church events for the ward. and as building security of the L. D. S. church, and working on the grounds around the church Such as the parking lot , the lawn and pavillion , also contributing to the Pioneer Monument on the church grounds.
