Hi I'm Blaine

My bride and I have been married 53 years. I'm a dad of 8, & a granddad of 31. I'm a dentist, a jail missionary and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah. My mom passed away when I was 13, leaving my father with 8 unmarried children. My family moved to Arizona in 1947, 4 months after my mom's passing. I served a mission in Georgia and Florida at the age of 20. After 2 years on a mission I resumed my studies where I met my sweetheart. I have been married for 53 years and we have eight children and 31 grandchildren. I enjoy being with my family, traveling, reading the scriptures and other good books, and gardening. I am just about to retire from serving my patients as a dentist for over 50 years. I have been able to give humanitarian dental service in Brazil, Mexico and Honduras. For over ten years I have had the privilege of teaching faith in Jesus Christ, repentance and the purpose of life and etc. to the inmates in the County Jails each week. Teaching the gospel to the inmates is rewarding because many of the inmates appreciate the hope they get from learning about the Savior and his love for them. I love my Savior, my family, the scriptures and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because my parents taught me the gospel from my youth. When I read the Book of Mormon as a teenager I knew it was true. I've read it at least once a year from the time I was twenty. It's a daily spiritual nurishment along with the Bible. They help me understand and appreciate and love my Savior, my family, and my fellow man.

How I live my faith

Daily prayer, daily scripture study, and attending my Sunday services each week is how I live my faith. I love my country and the constiution. I am a precinct committeeman. I try to support honest and capable candidates for government service. I teach the inmates in the county jails 2 days a week. I am a leader of the teachers who volunteer with me in the jails. We get a lot of satisfaction because the inmates appreciate the spiritual lift as they are able to learn more about our Savior and the purpose of our life. We teach where we came from, why we are here and what lies ahead. I have been able to provide dental service in 3 third- world countries. I teach the Sunday lesson of the men's group in my local ward. I look after 3 families in my ward by making monthly visits to their homes. I hold monthly family home evenings with all of my children who live nearby and their children. We share a gospel message, sing songs, pray together and spend time as a family.
