Hi I'm Meghan

I love to love people & help them on their journeys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to help people and listen to their stories of where they come from & what kind of struggles they had to overcome in their life. I love to love people! I'm a very accepting person and I feel like that is probably one of my best qualities. I also really love to make people laugh! So much enjoyment comes from turning someone's day around. If I can make at least one person laugh or smile during the day, my day is complete! :) I recently graduated from high school and I plan on starting school in the spring. I hope to be a wedding planner some day! The thought of helping someone plan the day they've dreamed of their whole life is pretty amazing! Music is my oasis.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a baby, I was baptized Catholic- but growing up, I never really went to church. My family is what you would call 'extremely dysfunctional', so getting to church was always a hassel. When I was seven, I would go to Saturday School and learn about Jesus and what He went through, and in 2001, I had my First Communion. Catholicism wasn't really what I wanted in a religion. I never felt like I was being taught the truth, but I never said anything cause I was brought up thinking it was right. When I was around fifteen, my sister asked me to go to her Non-Denominational Christian church, so I did. And again, I didn't find any closure. When I moved out west, I had never heard of Mormons. It took me almost my whole high shool career to actually learn more about this particular religion, seeing as how many people have such twisted things to say about it. I was getting teased pretty bad my last semester of senior year, and I decided to go to seminary with a friend of mine. As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted by a feeling that I will never forget. I have goosebumps just typing about it! I felt as though I was loved and that everything would be okay, which is somethin I desperately needed! I fell in love with seminary and I knew after school ended, I would continue investigating the church. A friend of mine suggested that I meet with him & the Elders that were at his church. During the summer, we had meetings every week and eventually, I knew that this Church is true and right for me. The friend who had set up the meetings with the Elders ended up baptizing me on June 24th, 2011 & I have to say, I have never been happier. It has been the best decision I have ever made. The closure I feel is absolutely amazing. For the first time in my life, I feel safe, I feel like everything is going to be okay. When people ask me why I converted, I am truly speechless. Not because I can't think of one thing to say, but because there's just way too many.

How I live my faith

Before I joined the Church, I would drink coffee every morning before school & I would have a cup of tea after school so when I learned that Heavenly Father asked us not to drink those things, it was extremely difficult to stop. I was angry at first because coffee tastes so good and I didn't understand why He would advise us not to drink such things. I soon realized that we may not understand a lot of things that Heavenly Father wants us to do, but it is best if we listen and trust in Him that he is only looking out for us. I live my life the way He wants and I can see the many blessings I have been promised already! I am very excited to keep growing and learning in the church!
