Hi I'm McKay

I'm a Kinesiology and Pre-medical student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student about half way towards receiving my Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and Pre-medical studies. I am actively working toward being able to go to medical school while I work part time in the Emergency department at 2 local hospitals and do what I can to help my wife who I was sealed to for time and all eternity in the Gilbert Arizona Temple in 2015. I am a return missionary for the Church. I spent 2 years serving my brothers and sisters in French Polynesia in the South Pacific. I do my best to work hard and prepare myself to be the provider for my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, partly because I was born into an LDS family but now that I'm older I've come to love the gospel with all my heart. When I get overwhelmed with the things of the world, school, work, and trying to make ends meet. I can always come home and kneel down and pray to my Heavenly Father. When I do that, I am overcome with peace and calmness and I can feel the warmth of the Holy Ghost. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the one true church on the Earth, the Holy Ghost has born witness to me. I know that Jesus is my Savior and that He suffered and died for me so that I can be forgiven of my sins. I'm not perfect, I make mistakes everyday. but through His love and grace I can be forgiven. I know that through God's eternal Plan of Happiness, I can be with my family for all eternity, even after death. I am so grateful to be a Mormon and I love the Lord with all my heart.

How I live my faith

As I grew up, my parents taught me the simple Gospel principles, faith, repentance, love for our Savior, that have guided me in my life. Everyday I strive to show others the happiness the Gospel has brought into my life by the way I live. I know I can show people how great the Gospel is by how I act on a day to day basis. I spend time reading and learning from the scriptures as often as I can, because inside those wonderful books lie the answers to life's questions that everyone asks at some point. And most importantly, I find time everyday to kneel and pray to my Heavenly Father to give thanks for my countless blessings and seek guidance and comfort when I am in need.

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the same church that Christ established on the earth during his earthly ministry. However after his death and the death of his apostles, the people turned from his teachings and distorted his doctrine. That lead into what we call the Great Apostasy, when Christ's Church and authority were no longer on the earth. This continued until the 1800's in Palmyra New York when a 14 year old boy named Joseph Smith prayed about which church he should join. While he was praying God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ appeared to him and called him to be a prophet just like Moses, Abraham, Jacob and other prophets of old. Through Joseph Smith, Heavenly Father restored his gospel on the Earth and re-established the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which is now a global Church. Show more Show less
