Hi I'm Josh

I'm from Iowa, I love sports, photography, and many other thing. Oh yeah! I'm a Mormon too!

About Me

I grew up in the Church. I was born of two LDS people who got divorced while my birth-mother was pregnant with me. I was put up for adoption through the LDS Family Services. I was placed into a wonderful home with a mother and a father who are converts to the Church. I had the opportunity to by placed into the family that I was saved for by a loving Heavenly Father. Growing up in the Church has been the greatest blessing! I was one of very few going through all of school (k-12). I had to stand up for who I was (and still am) many times. Some things I should have done differently, but I have grown from it. It is such a blessing looking back to have been one of only a few. I learned a good work ethic growing up. This is something that I love about the Church. We work. We help. We do. We are a working people, and for the most part, do whatever we can for our Brothers and Sisters. I love the Boy Scouts of America (which the Church supports a lot!). I got my Eagle Scout award in 2007 and I learned so much from that! I encourage every young man to be a Boy Scout. And you do not have to be a member of the Church to be in one of our troops either. Studying Wildlife Biology, I have learned how much God loves His creations. I love being outdoors and learning more about wildlife and their habitats. Heavenly Father created a beautiful world for us and all of his other creations. I have felt the need to be a steward of this earth and manage the wildlife and habitat.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church is everything to me. I know that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ. I never knew this for myself, but I leaned on my amazing parents' testimonies. But since, I have gained one for myself. I love learning more about it every day. I love improving every day. I love feeling of the Holy Ghost everyday. The Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ really did happen through the Prophet Joseph Smith. We can only find this to be true by reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. It is a true Book. A Holy Book of Scripture to go hand in hand with the Holy Bible. I love both Books. And I strive to learn from each of them every day. I am a Mormon also for my family. My wife means absolutely everything to me, and I love that we be,I even in eternal families. Because I don't know what I would do without her. Keeping s peaceful home, full of the spirit is something that we always strive for. This is the true Church of the earth today. Read and pray about it with an open heart and contrite spirit and the Holy Spirit will testify to you that this is true; as He did for me, and I know that it is all true.

How I live my faith

I have done my best to serve in the Church. I have taught many people about this as I served my mission. I loved my mission to Arizona so much! I do whatever I can to be a good example. I love a quote said by one of our leaders in the Church "Teach the Gospel always, and when necessary, use words". I try to do my best to be my best everyday. I am not perfect and I always will be found repenting each night. I look to the Apostle Paul for my example when he says (in the book of The Acts 24:16) that he wants a clear conscience "void of offense toward God, and toward men". This is how I try to live now. This shows true repentance. Daily repentance, even for little things that may seem silly to be repenting about. I can always feel the love of my/our Heavenly Father as I do this. At home I live my faith through prayer and scripture study. Talking to Father through prayer is one of the greatest comforts. He always listens, and I know that to be true. In my work, I strive to improve this earth that God created for us. I have the desire to try to help manage wildlife and habitat to more of a state at which it once was. It may not be possible, but there can always be improvements made. There is nothing like following a deer and her fawns high in the mountains just observing what they do and to sit high up on that mountain and offer a prayer of thanks to our Father for this earth. These are some of the times I feel closest to God.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

One of the reasons that only some Mormons can go into the Temples is because it is the most Holy place on earth. We invite all to go to the Temple, but they must live the standards set by the Lord. In the Temples there are very sacred saving ordinances that are done, such as baptism for those who have died. One of these ordinances that I am grateful for is the Sealing ordinance which unites families for time and all eternity. Because of this ordinance, I have been sealed to my adoptive parents, so I am theirs for ever. Which I am truly grateful for! Show more Show less
