Hi I'm Marjorie

I'm an army wife. I have six children, an amazing husband, a dog named Liberty and a love for life.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an army wife. My husband and I have six children. My oldest is a senior in high school and my youngest is 3. I love children and have spent most of my adult life with them. Our home has always been that house on the street that is full of children, mine and everyone else's. I love for the children to play here. I want them to feel loved and appreciated and welcome. I want them to know that the world is a good place to be. Our house is often referred to as the party house. It is a good kind of party though. There is clean entertainment, lots of creativity, and good food. I love to cook. Some of my kids consider it a blessing, some a curse. I like to try new foods and new recipes with different flavors. Rachael Ray is my favorite. Her recipes tend to be fresh, healthy, and fast. I like healthy food as well and grind my own wheat into flour and grow vegetables and herbs in my backyard. I like to make meals as well as desserts and that keeps us well rounded with flavors. All the neighborhood children are always interested in what is going on in my kitchen. I love the outdoors and being in God's creations. I love to run, bike, hike, participate in sports, do yard work, etc. etc. etc. If it gets my heart pumping, me sweating, and is outside it generally suits me. I am currently training with my friends for a half marathon. I love my husband. He makes me smile. I love to spend time with him and to watch our children grow up holding his hand. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all of my life. Some might think that I was a Mormon because my parents were. I would say no. I am 38 years old and a free thinker. I haven't lived at home since 3 days after my 18th birthday. I have lived all over the United States and have met people from all walks of life. I am a Mormon because I want to be. I believe it to be the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I believe that we have the priesthood of Jesus Christ and that it is used to bless our lives and the lives of those around us. I believe that we have a prophet of God to guide us through the modern dilemmas of our time. Blessings of the gospel are all around me. I have followed the counsel over the years and have avoided so many terrible things out there. I haven't had to fight any addictions to coffee, alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, pornography, sex etc. I have been able to enjoy my life and have been free to make decisions based on what I believe to be right and wrong not based on any other influences (drugs, alcohol, etc.) I was a foster parent for a period of time and saw many people who had lost their freedom to those things and all the consequences that come with that. I have been supported everywhere we have lived by our church. I am never alone wherever I go. There is a Mormon church and there are people that will help me and be my friend. I can also be involved in church which gives me opportunities to serve. Service adds meaning and dimension to my life. It helps me to be grateful for all that I have which brings me great happiness. I believe that all churches can bring you closer to God. He knows when people are seeking Him and will bless them. I also believe that there is so much more. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has so much more. More of the spirit, more of the truths, more of the blessings, more goodness, more strength. Come and see for yourself. There really is so much more.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to emulate my Savior. I love my family and try always to give them my very best. I want to raise my children to know the Light of Christ in there lives and to share it with others. I also try to share that light with those around me. I am fortunate to be a stay at home mom. My door is always open to any child that can come in and follow the guidelines of my home. If they can behave here they are welcome. We have children of all ages and types that come and play and share their life with us. I try and help in my community any way that I can. I volunteer in the schools and in the extra curricular programs that our children are involved in. I like to support their teachers that give so much. At church I teach a class of eighteen 12 and 13 year olds in Sunday School. I love to teach the youth. That is such a hard time to feel the love of God. Peers can be tough, the youth are deciding what kind of person that they want to be, and other harmful things are being introduced into their lives. I want them to know that God knows that and that He loves them. They are not alone. I also love our women's organization. We work together and take care of each other. We learn and grow together and reach out to the community together. The gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone. It brings me great happiness and I love to share it with my friends and family.
