Hi I'm April

I am a student at BYU. I love to run and enjoy life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student who is studying Recreation Management. I am a proud Harry Potter fan. Some of my favorite things to do are: running, hiking, backpacking, reading, and trying new food. I have a sister and a brother. They are the greatest siblings any sister can ever ask for. My dream is to travel the world and experience different cultures and lifestyles.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel has literally changed and shaped my life. I was 14 when I first met the missionaries. They immediately became some of my best friends. They taught me things I've never heard before, but the message came so naturally to me. The moment they told me about Joseph Smith, I just knew he, in reality, saw God and His Son Jesus Christ and received the answer to His prayer. When they taught me about God's plan for me and my family, I just knew that was His plan. Now when I look back, I wonder why the message came so naturally to me. But it did. =) As I continued to read the Book of Mormon and attend church meetings, the messages shared by missionaries came closer and closer to my heart. I then came to realize with certainty that this church was where I needed to be. I can still remember vividly the moment I got baptized. Just few minutes before I got into the water, someone told me that I will feel SO happy when I get out of the water. She was right. The moment I was baptized, I remember thinking, "Wow. This is so great. This is so real. Why am I so happy? Where is this happiness coming from?" I know now that happiness at that precise moment came from doing what God wanted me to do. So, ever since then, I've been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! =) Living and following the doctrine of Christ allow me to become the best person I can be and continue to improve and progress. While my parents are not the members of the Church (yet), they recognize the difference in me. With the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, I am a better sister, friend, student, employer, leader, and daugther to both my parents and to my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading scriptures daily and praying daily. I try everday to be more like Our Savior, Jesus Christ, who is the center of my faith. I try to be kind to others, serve others, and share His gospel with others.
